Tour from Fes to Marrakech
Erg Chebbi, better known as the dunes of Merzouga, is one of the two major ergs of the Sahara in Morocco. The spectacular golden dunes of Erg Chebbi are among the most remarkable in the Sahara. Some culminate at 150 m in height.
Erg Chebbi is one of Morocco’s several ergs – large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand. There are several other ergs such as Erg Chigaga near M’hamid. Technically all these ergs are within an area of semi-arid Pre-Saharan Steppes and not part of the Sahara desert which lies some distance to the south.
Trek ascent of Toubkal with its highest point of 4167 meters, the highest in all of North Africa. This peak is visible from the surrounding mountains.
The Todgha Gorges are a series of limestone river canyons, or wadi, in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, near the town of Tinerhir. Both the Todgha and neighbouring Dades Rivers are responsible for carving out these deep cliff-sided canyons, on their final 40 kilometres through the mountains. The height of the canyon walls can vary, but in some places can be up to 400 metres high.
